Our Mission

We aim to empower all learners to discover their unique potential through classroom guidance, real-world experiences, and clear pathways to college and the modern workforce.

 

Our Approach

  • Classroom Guidance: Advisors and counselors visit classrooms to deliver college and career related curriculum, educate on Advanced Opportunities, and assist with the college going process. 
  • Equity: We believe every student deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances. As a team, we work to promote equitable opportunities for all learners.
  • One-on-one Advising: Counselors and advisors meet one-on-one with students to develop and revisit learning plans, map out college credits, explore career options, and more. 
  • Schoolwide Events: We embrace new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning that prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century. These include job and career fairs, field trips to college campuses and potential places of employment, guest speakers, workshops, and more. 
  • Student Champions: We believe every student deserves a champion. In Nampa School District career centers, we will cheer on our students and help them reach their potential.

Dear Students,

You belong here and we are so happy to have you. As the coordinator for college and career readiness, I am here to help you navigate the world of higher education and workforce. I am the college and career counselor for Skyview High School (which is where my desk is located). However, I visit all three comprehensive high schools biweekly and I am happy to help wherever I can. 

The best advice I can give to you now is to try things. It is scary to fail or discover you don’t like it. But trying something and discovering you don’t like it is an equally valuable experience as trying something and finding out that you do. Take a welding class, cosmetology, health professions, join a club, sing in the choir! Growth begins at the end of your comfort zone.
