Reboundary Information

As we navigate through the necessary adjustments for the upcoming school year, we understand that changes of this nature may prompt questions and concerns. We have been committed to transparency and communication throughout this process, and we wish to uphold that commitment by providing a clear explanation for the recent adjustments made to our school boundary options. During the Special Board Meeting held on April 4, 2024, these adjustments were discussed in detail. For those who could not attend or wish to review the discussions, we encourage you to view the meeting video on YouTube.

Our aim has always been to make decisions that best serve the educational needs of our students while also preparing for the future growth of our district. After careful consideration and in response to the feedback survey from our community and staff, we have made targeted adjustments to the boundary options, focusing on two main areas:

Creating Space for Areas of Potential Growth for Elementary Schools:
Recognizing the potential for growth in certain areas of our district, it became imperative to adjust our boundaries to accommodate this future expansion. These adjustments are designed to ensure that as our community grows, our youngest learners will have access to the quality education they deserve, without the complication of overcrowded schools. By shifting some students to nearby schools with lower utilization rates, we can create a more balanced and conducive learning environment for everyone.

Balancing Enrollment Numbers for Secondary Schools:
Equally important is the need to balance enrollment across our secondary schools. This balance is crucial for maintaining the quality of our educational programs and ensuring every student has access to the wide range of opportunities we offer. Adjustments to the boundary options were specifically designed to align middle and high school boundaries more closely, reducing the number of split feeders and fostering a more cohesive educational journey from middle to high school.

These adjustments, culminating in the revised boundary option 3A, reflect our commitment to thoughtful, data-driven decision-making, with the well-being and future of our students at the forefront. Option 3A was carefully chosen to best meet our district’s criteria and objectives, taking into consideration the invaluable input from our community.
