Skyview Hosts Unified Basketball Tournament

“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.’

This Special Olympics motto ruled the day when Skyview High School hosted a Unified Basketball Tournament on Feb. 13.

The tournament included two teams of five players each from Columbia High School and Skyview High School, and one team each from Middleton High School and Ridgevue High School.

Each team was comprised of three special education students and two general education students. Teams played 15-minute games, with winners advancing to the finals. At the end of the tournament, Skyview High’s Team 1 took top honors.

The Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools (UCS) program promotes a socially inclusive school climate where acceptance, respect, and human dignity for all students is the norm.
