Student Photos Displayed at City Hall

Beautiful photos by students in the district’s commercial photography class are on display at Nampa City Hall. Photographs are displayed in the hallway outside the council chambers.

The pieces depicting scenes in downtown Nampa were shot for a challenge titled “The Heart of Nampa.”

Terrell Moffett, a professional photographer and instructor in the Career and Technical Education commercial photography course, challenged his students to capture the essence – the heart – of Nampa over a one-day field trip and the following weekend. The students responded with photos that reflect what they believe best represents Nampa’s history, values or lifestyle.

The resulting 15 images range from portraits of police and fire personnel to restaurant signage and historic trains.

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling was then asked to award one first-place winner and two honorable mentions. Awards were presented to the following students prior to the May 2 City Council meeting.

First place
Macie Stokes “First on the Scene, First in our Hearts”

Honorable mention
Cheyenne Fillmore “Old Origins”
Hunter Kelley “Sede Nel Cuore” (Italian translated = Seat In The Heart)
