On March 10, 2020, patrons of the Nampa School District will have the opportunity to approve a supplemental levy of $12,895,000.

This levy will be in effect for two years and will replace our current levy that expires on June 30 of this year. The levy needs a simple majority to pass.

Levy funds are vital to our success as a school district. Funds will be allocated as follows:

How will the proposed levy affect your property tax bill?

Last year, the Nampa School District collected over $25 million in property taxes from our patrons.  Most of these funds were paid toward our remaining bond indebtedness. With the passage of this new levy, the district will collect a little over $21 million, resulting in a tax savings for our patrons of just about $4 million per year.

Because of population growth and increased property values in Nampa, we are able to lower our levy rate – the amount of money collected for every $1,000 in net property value – while still collecting enough funds to support our needs. The rate will decline by $65 per $100,000 in assessed value and is the lowest overall rate levied by the district in over 10 years.
