Nampa Online Virtual Academy (NOVA) is a full-time school designed to provide students with a robust educational experience with the flexibility of an online learning environment.
NOVA provides an enhanced, full-time experience. Similar to a brick-and-mortar school, NOVA develops in-depth units and lessons aligned to the Idaho Content Standards. Students receive consistent feedback on how they demonstrate proficiency on those standards. Frequent assistance from a teacher is available for every student to help ensure students learn and meet their goals.
Students have the full support of a teacher, yet still have some flexibility to learn at their own pace in a digital classroom. NOVA provides a variety of learning experiences including but not limited to:
- Large-group learning in a digital environment
- Small-group learning in a digital environment
- Individual meetings with teachers in a digital environment
- Face-to-face “live” meetings with teachers to support individual needs.
- Digital collaboration with others including students, teachers, and outside experts
- Digital field trips
- Opportunities to show what you've learned through a variety of digital methods.
In addition to core subjects, NOVA students are able to choose from a list of select electives. Extracurricular activities are available through the student’s home school (the school zone that corresponds to your home address).
