Four Nampa School District middle school teachers were recognized by the J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation as leaders in math education during the past school year.

The Foundation recognized 43 of more than 230 teachers in state as Khan Academy Idaho Teacher Leaders for their leadership and commitment to students.

The NSD teachers recognized for their work with the foundation’s Khan Academy math initiative were: Jeff Miller, West Middle School, Danielle Desjarlais, West, Andrew Book, Lone Star Middle School, and Leora White, Lone Star.

In the 2013-14 school year, the Foundation’s Executive Director Jamie MacMillan said these teachers stood out among their peers  because of the number of math exercises mastered by their students, performance of their students on the Measures of Academic Progress test, and the overall growth of students was more than 150%.
