The Board of Trustees is the governing body for Nampa School District #131. These elected volunteers
serve without pay during their three-year terms of office.
The main responsibilities of the Board of Trustees include setting policies, adopting the school district
budget, setting a tax rate, hiring a superintendent, and general governance of the District. The Nampa
School District Board of Trustees in comprised of five members elected from single-member districts or
zones. The Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board are elected by the five members of the group at their
Regular meetings of the Board are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Ted J. Comstock
Administration Building, 619 S. Canyon Street, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The five-member board is responsible for guiding the Nampa School District towards excellence and
establishing policies for the operation of the district.
Service: Members serve staggering terms. Each trustee shall be elected for a term of three (3) years, or until the annual meeting of the District held during the year in which a trustee’s term expires.
Meetings: All regular NSD Board meetings are open to the public. Within the limits of Idaho Code, parts of Board meetings may be closed for Executive Sessions.
Public Participation: The public may address the Board during the public participation portion of the regular monthly meeting, or by e-mail.
